Go Mustangs!

Senior Colton Capps played his final game at Mustang Mountain and finished with a double-double, 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Anthony Frizzell led the Mustangs with 11 points and 9 rebounds against McGehee.

Mustangs Run Into Hot Owls

In the most dominating shooting performance of the season, the Mustangs watched helplessly as the McGehee Owls hit nine of their first ten shots from the field on their way to a 65-30 decision in the first round of the South Region Tournament.

After trailing 24-9 at the end of the first quarter, the Mustangs fought back to trail by ten points midway through the second period, but the Owls continued to hit an array of shots on their way to a 45-18 halftime advantage. For the game, McGehee shot over 65% from the field and an astounding 83% from the three-point line.

CAC gave up only five offensive rebounds against their most athletic opponent of the season, and turned the ball over only 13 times to the Owls' eleven. But it was the Mustangs' season-low 20% shooting, 22% from the arc, that was the most telling statistic.

CAC ends the season 17-11 after earning their third conference championship in four years. "This group of guys overcame so many obstacles this season, and I could not be more proud of this team," said head coach Chris Parker. "They represented CAC extremely well this year."

Mustangs Race Past Panthers

With a deciding 26-3 second-quarter run, the Mustangs stretched a 25-point halftime advantage into a 30-point lead entering the fourth quarter to take a 62-35 Senior-Night victory in 7-4A conference play at Mustang Mountain.

CAC's lone senior, Colton Capps, made it a game to remember as he scored 19 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead all scorers and rebounders. Carter Trent added 16 points and J.J. Johnson scored 12 while Luke Sandlin dished out four assists and Anthony Frizzell collected five rebounds.

CAC (17-10, 12-2) ends the regular season as conference champions for the third time in four years and will appear in their fifth straight regional tournament.
