Girls' Team Takes Third in State; Martinez Leads Boys

Behind senior Kelsey Hatcher's second-place finish, the Lady Mustang cross country team took third place in the 2007 State Cross Country Meet held in Hot Springs. With her finish, Hatcher earned All-State honors for the fourth consecutive year.

"All the hard work throughout the season paid off," said head coach David Shackelford. Jenny Fisher and Jessica Lieblich placed 21st and 22nd, respectively, and Lisa Alley finished in the top 30 while Kandace Parker rounded out the Lady Mustang runners.

For the boys, Jesus Martinez led the way with a sixth-place finish, giving him All-State honors as only a sophomore. With over 110 runners competing, Max Deaton finished in the top 20 as Corey Reed, Joe Worley and Colin Osment completed the Mustang team.
