MUSTANG MONITOR - APRIL 24TH

posted by CAC Staff on 04.24.10 category: general | sport: boysSoccer

Soggy (finally) Greetings,

I hope the rain has proven invigorating and refreshing to you.  Yes, it compromised some games but was/is nice and most needed.  My car is once again basically white and it has prevented yardwork today. Activities are winding down in number but increasing in importance.  Thank you for hanging with us to this point and helping to make it a great year.

Friday's baseball and softball games with Vilonia have been rescheduled to Monday.  All games will begin at 4:00 pm with softball at Sylvan Hills and baseball at Burns Park.  Should the forecast look to compromise next Friday's games with Greenwood, those games will be played on Thursday beginning at 4:00 pm at the same facilities.  Likely that call will be made on Tuesday, notification will be sent.  We will try to reschedule the Benton baseball games however, conference games will have precedence.

Barring thunder and lightning, the state soccer tournament will begin on Friday in Harrison.  Our opponents are unknown at this time pending some coin tosses to break ties.  That information will likely be available by Tuesday also.

For parents planning to make the soccer trip, lodging Friday night will be in Branson, MO, at the Comfort Inn West.  Contact information is:

3601 Shepherd of the Hills; 417-334-8694.  Identify yourself as part of the CAC High School group and you will get a nightly rate of $64.00 plus tax.  Additional information will be given to the team members on Monday.

Monday night's Football Parents Meeting is for next year's grade 10-12 players only.  Summer schcedule information will be given as well as plans for the coming year.  The meeting will not be long but will cover several items of importance.  Please make plans to attend the 6:00 pm meeting.

Should other activities prevent your attendance, contact Coach Shoemaker at 758-3160, ext 188 or tshoemaker@cacmustangs.org to secure the information.

I will be leaving Friday morning for the Colorado Athletic Directors Association's annual conference in Breckenridge.  I will be teaching four professional development classes from the national association's Leadership Training curriculum.  Topics range from Risk Management to Communications to Exemplary Athletic Programs.  It will be a hectic "working" trip but most beneficial with the prospects of networking with and learning from fellow professionals.   If you know any sure-fire preventatives for altitude sickness (which has plagued me in the past) please contact me with instructions.

Have a great weekend and coming week.  Thank you again for your continuing support; please don't hestitate to contact me if we may be of assistance.

Doug Killgore, CMAA
