MUSTANG MONITOR - JULY 3RD

posted by CAC Staff on 07.03.10 category: general | sport: football

Independence Day Weekend Greetings,

I trust you are looking forward to a long weekend remembering our country’s independence and enjoying hot dogs, hamburgers and fireworks.  Remember, too much of any of them can be harmful.

Some updates on goings on at the Mountain:

The school office will be closed Monday.

Junior and senior football action will pick up again on Monday.  Junior 7 on 7 will start up on Tuesday evening at Pulaski Academy.  However, basketball camp will not begin until Tuesday.

Some of the spirit pack practice items are in; expect them to be distributed next week.  Additional pieces may be purchased in the main office.

We’d like to welcome Rob and Keva Rodgers to the Booster Club staff.  Rob has agreed to work with us in a leadership position for the coming year.  A Mustang THANK YOU to them for volunteering and for their service. Another Mustang THANK YOU to Carrie Scott, Cindy Frizzell, Cindy Strange and Betty Graham for their valuable activities with the Booster Club over the past couple of years.  We appreciate them for their efforts and the great job they did.

We welcome former CAC coach, Ryan Stauder back as the new head baseball coach.  Stauder will be returning from action at Muskogee High School in Oklahoma.  He will be teaching in the math department and assisting with junior high football as well.  Best wishes to Ryan and Cassandra on their transition.

Senior to be and overall state runner-up shot putter, April Terry has been attending specialized throws camps in Illinois and Georgia.  She met several USA Olympians and continues to hone her skills.  Word is she has also been having fun and has acquired some shoes and other equipment with Olympic history.

CAC grad and ASU golfer, Jenny Welch is the new Arkansas Women’s Golf Association Match Play champion.  The tournament was played at Maumelle Country Club.  Welch was the medalist in the qualifying/seeding round and was crowned champion after winning four matches.  Great job and congratulations!

Wednesday, July 14, will be CAC Night at American Pie Pizza in Maumelle and North Little Rock.  Activities will begin at 5:00 pm.  Come out, enjoy the great food and support CAC.  A portion of the proceeds will go to the Mustang Spirit program.  Details may be found on the CACMustangs.org website.

Fall sports schedules for football and volleyball are posted on the CACSports.org website.  Check them out and make plans to attend and support our Mustang and Lady Mustang squads. Cross Country, Golf, and Tennis schedules will follow soon.

Till the next time, continue to have a great time this summer and especially this weekend.  Please holler if we may be of assistance.

Doug Killgore, CMAA
