After capturing a conference championship and making an appearance in the state tournament semifinals, the Mustangs have high expectations this season.
Returning for the Mustangs is All-State performer Matt Lambert along with All-Conference player Corey Reed.
Experience is an advantage as nine seniors and seven juniors lead the way for a team that made it to last year's Final Four.

The Mustangs found little resistence as they shut out Morrilton 4-0 behind a hat trick by Matt Lambert. Zach Overton added a goal as well while Corey Reed provided two assists and Luke Sandlin and Zach Williamson added an assist each.
The Mustangs travel to play at North Pulaski on Thursday, March 6, in a nonconference game.

CAC dropped a tough 1-0 decision Tuesday to Pulaski Academy in a nonconference game.
The Mustangs defeated Nettleton 6-0 Monday as Matt Lambert netted a hat trick, Zach Overton scored two goals and Corey Reed chipped in one.
CAC hosts Lutheran Thursday in a 4A-Central conference game.

The Mustang boys' soccer team defeated Valley View 7-0 Monday before finishing off Arkansas Baptist 3-0 Tuesday in a game that was completed after rain stopped play with CAC holding a 1-0 lead. Both soccer teams play in the 4A State Tournament at Burns Park with the #1-seed Lady Mustangs taking on fourth-seeded Green Forest Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and the top-seeded boys playing #4-seeded Gentry at noon.

The Mustang soccer team advanced to their first-ever state championship game as they avenged last year's semifinal loss to Clarksville with a 2-1 victory Tuesday in the Final Four.
CAC defeated Gentry 5-0 and De Queen 3-0 before taking out Clarksville in the semifinals. The Mustangs now take on Little Rock Lutheran Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Lady 'Back Field at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

The Mustang soccer team won the school's first-ever AAA state title with a 4-1 victory over Lutheran at Lady 'Back Field at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Senior Matt Lambert broke the state record with his 37th goal of the season, Ryan Lamberson scored twice and Luke Sandlin provided some insurance with the final goal after Lutheran led 1-0 early in the first half. Lambert finishes his high school career with a school-record 101 career goals in four seasons at CAC and will play collegiately at Oklahoma Christian University. Zach Williamson earned MVP honors for his stellar play on defense.

After helping the Mustangs to their first-ever AAA state title, senior Zach Williamson signed to continue his academic and soccer careers at Harding University in Searcy. Williamson, who earned State Tournament MVP honors, is the second Mustang soccer player to sign collegiately after Matt Lambert committed to Oklahoma Christian University in Olahoma City earlier this semester.
